Invitation and the response thereof
Matthew 22: 1-14 & Luke 14:15-24

Luke 14:15-24: Now when one of those who sat at the table with Him heard these things, he said to Him, "Blessed is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God!" 16 Then He said to him, "A certain man gave a great supper and invited many,  17 and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, 'Come, for all things are now ready.'  18 But they all with one accord began to make excuses. The first said to him, 'I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. I ask you to have me excused.'  19 And another said, 'I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you to have me excused.'  20 Still another said, 'I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.' 21 So that servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the blind.'  22 And the servant said, 'Master, it is done as you commanded, and still there is room.' 23 Then the master said to the servant, 'Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.  24 For I say to you that none of those men who were invited shall taste my supper.'" NKJV

Matt 22:1-14: And Jesus answered and spoke to them again by parables and said: 2 "The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son,  3 and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come. 4 Again, he sent out other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited, "See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding."' 5 But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, and another to his business. 6 And the rest seized his servants, treated them spitefully, and killed them. 7 But when the king heard about it, he was furious. And he sent out his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.  8 Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.  9 Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding.'  10 So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests. 11 "But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment.  12 So he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?' And he was speechless.  13 Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' 14 "For many are called, but few are chosen." NKJV

The night hour is already here and therefore is upon us.

Dinner is always the meal which begins before the night hour. The whole scenario is changing as the night hour is now beginning to signal that everything is about to change and as new challenges will emerge. Some will not see a new day for the only day they have is this day. There is a finishing generation a generation who will enjoy many tomorrows a generation who have taken a hold and responded to the invitation of God and then there is a finished generations meaning all they have is today for they don’t have another day as they have been cut off from entering into the move of God. God knows that those who were part of the old move have heard everything and have therefore concluded there is nothing new.

Moses lived 120 where David lived to 70 but David finished the purposes of God. The only way to save your Christian life is to carry extra oil in your life this way the purposes of God will be completed. This was a meal which was to be the last meal before the night time. Your faith must make you well your own faith and not the faith of a pay packet, doctor manager or pastor but your faith hence why God wants to give you a meal which is heavenly food before the night hour so that you will become strong. God said to Elisha; ‘Elijah arise’ and eat so you can finish the course showing us that God is always prepared to feed those who will accept the invitation.

Every invitation is not the same

Every invitation that is given is different and because of this you must learn to respond accurately. You can ignore a birthday invitation and celebrate later as to do this is called a belated birthday celebration. If an invitation comes for you to attend a funeral then your response has to be different because once the moment has passed you cannot see the person or the people. When the invitation comes for one to accept Salvation that individual must quickly seize the invitation as to ignore such a thing will undoubtedly have serious repercussions upon a life.

An excuse is what causes you to set your priorities aside.  Matthew 22

To God this could be number one whereas to you it’s a number five in the line priority. If it is priority number one to God then it must be number one to you also.

What is deemed as being important to God must also become important to me and you.

We often sing songs with lines which say, reveal to me that which is in your heart only to later find that when God does reveal that which is in his heart we have made alternative plans opposite. If you make excuses you will only go half way. You must ask yourself; Lord what is it that I must prioritise?

All excuses however legitimate they seem God doesn’t accept.

Excuses such as I have a wife, no one to take care of my business, no one to take care of my animals, I have to study and therefore have no time in which to listen to God. You and I make these excuses legitimate excuses but God is not accepting them and why because these are not on Gods priority list. The invitation is given to you for this hour. There are some legitimate excuses in life, sickness, and holiday. This week it’s the dog, next week it’s your boss the week after its I have to study and before you know it your life pattern is filled with excuses and you are found to have an unhealthy patterned lifestyle. If you are too busy for God then you are too busy. What if there is a day whereby God wants to meet you and give you something really special and because of your illegitimate excuse you miss it? God put these stories in the bible to warn us warning us so that we don’t miss our chance. What if someone could tell you that the way you are living and all your excuses could be dangerous for your life and future?

Those who were once deemed worthy are now being replaced.

Why did they send an invitation out simply because these people were deemed as being respected people by the king and therefore worthy of attending the feast? What happened was because they responded with excuses he said go into the highways and invite the people who were not once deemed worthy replacing them entirely? Can you imagine your close intimate place with God being replaced by another? Your destiny is being replaced because you respond inaccurately? First they were invited as they were deemed as being special but through there inaccurate response they are being bypassed. Though the eyes of the Lord run to and throw the earth God isn’t looking for everyone he is looking for that which is his. The scarry thing in the Christian life is that God can rise up others to replace me and you for I am not indispensible for God has others. If you don’t want to play the drum usher or work in the kitchen or even visit the sick then God will raise someone else up to take your place. It’s only a matter of time and God will find the right people whatever signal you send heaven receives it and if it is bad God will also send a signal down your line called function terminated.  David thanked God for his mercy saying thank you God for allowing me the privilege of serving and leading a nation. Don’t take away from me that which i deem as being essential for my life ‘the holy spirit’. If you want to see and know how merciful God has been to your life then go visit a hospital and see those less fortunate than you or visit India and Africa and other nations to see his goodness and mercy to your life.

God is about to intercept others who are going in another direction so as they too can encounter his goodness and mercy.

People are blindly ignorant to God’s mercy. Every Sunday you have good worship and strong healthy word but you don’t always appreciate it. Go and visit other organisation and churches and you will quickly begin to see the favour that God has upon your life and church. Many who sing and claim to worship, worship what they don’t know but what God has opened up for you is his goodness and mercy over your life. Each and every time we assemble as a church this is family time. You say, pastor you know my heart is with you really then why are your feet going in another direction? The truth is the lost are looking for Jesus and are putting more effort into finding God than many of those who have found and claim know him what a tragedy.

The charge for us is to go into the highway and invite people to the wedding banquet giving them an invitation for there is so much more room in the house so  much so that Gods house will be filled.

In the spirit God is sending the frequency to his ministers of what is going to happen so that if you align yourself to that which is being said you be ready and not caught out.  The king of kings is giving us this invitation for its not just anyone but the king himself so your response has to be different.
