Just say YES

YES, YES and... YES

Yesterday we had a great Sunday morning here at the City Church in Herning and the Word God spoke was powerful. Let me give you the main thought, not in the sense that we should share our messages on this website, but some proceeding Words may have global relevance. And I am convinced this one has.

Elisha...

... was "called" by Elijah (1Kg 19,19). How? He just walked up to him and threw his mantle around him. No explanation, no reinforcement through microphone or crying organ! And Elijah left immediately; therefore Elisha had to run after him. Amazing encounter and calling. Later, while they were on their way to GIlgal, Elijah decided to go to Bethel, he asked Elisha to stay where he was. The response was clear and immediate: "As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you."

(2Kg 2,1-2). And this specific situation and short exchange of words repeated itself 3 times. Elisha was divinely informed about the fact that he was a part of a New Generation God was raising, for the New Day which was about to dawn on the nation. And he also knew that there was a legacy to be transferred, not anointings or giftings. Because of this, a new YES had to be produced and emerge from a new place in his life. He had already said YES thousands of times, and he had lived that YES ,but now was a new moment. Now was the entrance-point into a new era of Kingdom-history. God knew what kind of challenges and assignments Elisha will have to handle , therefore God had to work on him, so a new YES should rise from a new depth inside of him. So God was at work. Three times he was offered to stay back and three times he had to re-consider his life, his walk, his commitment, his connection, his destiny. And his YES went deeper, and deeper, and deeper.

Isaiah...

... went through a dark season as king Uzzija died (Is 6). In that moment of emotional turbulence, God opened his eyes and he looked into heaven and he understood that God was about to move on a new level. A New Day with new assignments was dawning. Therefore God had to work on him again. He was definitely not the new kid in the classroom, but God challenged a YES from a new depth in his heart and mind. Not a YES because of the past, but a YES because of the future, a future God had already planned and settled. The challenges waiting for Isaiah were as demanding and complex as what Elisha had to face.

Peter...

... sat with Jesus by the lake (Joh 21). And Jesus turned to him and asked him 3 times: Peter, do you love me? Not to put a knife in his wounds, but to let Peter's YES go to a new level. Why? Not because of the past but because of the future. A New Day was about to break out. Heaven hit Earth a few days later and all Jerusalem was turned upside down.

I mailed our father this morning and said YES to him again. I have said YES to him every year since the first time back in 2001, but I sense that it's time to take it deeper and higher. Not because of the past, but because of the phenomenal future before him, before us and before our Houses.

Let me close this short and simple Word by telling you that I say YES to you as well. For a New Day in Europe, for a New Brotherhood. YES because we understand Kingdom, because we understand legacy, a legacy increasing and developing from generation to generation.

Be of good courage... see you all in Muar in June!
